In the year 1990, war erupted in Croatia. Finally, its decades of struggle for freedom were coming to an end.

During these years of war, Mrs. Maria Paulic and Mr. Carlos Legcevic, both native Croatians residing in Florida, started sending tons of humanitarian aid to the many affected by the war.

It was with the help of thousands of Medjugorje followers that they were able to help those in need. They are still diligently helping in the reconstruction process.

In 1992, to the petition of several Medjugorje prayers groups, Mrs. Maria Paulic and Mr. Carlos Legcevic, founded the Croatian Mir Center and started organizing pilgrimages to Medjugorje. Since then, thousands of people have gone on a pilgrimage to Medjugorje with the Croatian Mir Center, among them many priests and several bishops.

Thanks to the good personal relationship maintained with the visionaries and priests of Medjugorje, The Croatian Mir Center has brought, in many occasions, several of the Medjugorje visionaries (including Ivan, Jakov, Marija, and Mirjana) and parish priests (including Fr. Svetozar Kraljevic, the late Fr. Slavko Barbaric, Fr. Jozo Zovko, and Fr. Petar Ljubicic) to America for talks and seminars.

Visionary Jakov Colo received his 10th secret in Florida, during a visit to the Croatian Mir Center  on September 11th, 1997.

Today, the Croatian Mir Center has grown into a well established and mature pilgrimage company with a large client base and a vast network of priests and prayer group leaders acting as promoters of our pilgrimages, not only to Medjugorje, but other shrines around the world, like Italy, Poland, Lourdes, Fatima, Israel, and Mexico.

Croatian Mir Center founder Maria Paulic was once confined to a wheelchair after a terrible accident, but she was miraculously healed in Medjugorje. Based on a calling from Our Lady, Maria's mission entails providing pilgrims with the spiritual food that they seek while on pilgrimage. She is fluent in both English and Croatian.
