Next, we enjoy the highlight of the trip, a fascinating walk through the Prague Castle complex, including a guided tour of the major areas within; admire the grandeur of Saint Vitus Cathedral and its presbytery, the ancient architecture of the Old Royal Palace with its imperial Vladislav Hall and, of course, a trip through charming Golden Lane, home of alchemists and goldsmiths. From
Prague Castle, we drive down to the picturesque Vltava River. Mass at Church of Our Lady Victorious and Holy Infant of Prague (Chram Panny Marie Vitezne and Prazske Jezulatko). The church constructed on a platform with stairs belongs to the first Baroque buildings in Prague. There is a crypt of members of the Carmelitan order under the church. Duchess Polyxena of Lobkovicz donated a statuette of Holy Infant (El Niòo or Bambino di Praga) to the church in the first half of the 17th century. The statuette was made in Spain. Until present time many people from the entire world come to see it and worship. A collection of dresses that were given to the Holy Infant as an expression of gratefulness, is situated in a room in the upper floor, the entrance is on the left from the altar. The statuette itself was probably made of wood covered by fabric and wax, on its surface the face was shaped. However reverence to the one who is represented by the statuette and the material it is made of will never give permission to a more detailed investigation. The origin of the statuette has been still mysterious. There is a lovely legend about how it came into being: Constant fights raged between Christian sovereigns and Moors on the turn of the 11th and 12th century on the Pyrenean peninsula. It’s said that a cloister used to be close to the
Guadalquivir river somewhere between towns Sevilla and Cordoba. It was destroyed by Moors; only four monks came back to the ruins of the cloister. One of them was called Joseph and he stood out for his great reverence to the Holy Infant and the Holy Family. Once when this devoutly man worked in a garden, a splendorous child appeared and bid him to pray. The brother started and when he came to the words about blessed infant Jesus, the child said: “That’s me!” Then it vanished. However brother Joseph couldn’t forget about it and craved for one more meeting. The time went on and the child didn’t appear. So he decided to create its statuette at least. He grew old and still continued trying to create its face from wax but he was nsuccessful. Once when he got very old, the child appeared again and said: “I am coming to enable you to finish my statuette.” Joseph immediately started to work. He even couldn’t understand how his hands shaped soft wax and created the face that seemed to be like a dream. Soon he was finished. The vision
disappeared again but the brother seethed with happiness. He felt very tired so he put his head in his hands and he never woke up in this world. Mass will be celebrated. Dinner and Overnight in Prague. ( B; D)

Each morning at 10:00am, we meet at St. James Church for the English language Mass (Feast days and Sundays English Mass is at noon). Our local bilingual tour guide will escort us to the Hill Apparitions where the visionaries first saw Our Blessed Virgin Mary. Pray before the statue that symbolizes the place of the first apparition. In 1933 the villagers built a 30' high cross on the anniversary of Jesus' crucifixion on top of Cross Mountain (Krizevac). We will climb the mountain through the Stations of the Cross. Also, visit and pray at "Blue Cross". A place of healings and graces at the foot of Apparition Hill. We will have the chance to attend meetings and talks with the visionaries (subject to their availability and health during our trip). We will also visit Father Jozo Zovko in Siroki Brijeg (subject to his schedule) and listen to his inspirational talk and receive his powerful healing blessing. Fr. Jozo was St. James' pastor when the apparitions began in 1981. We will also visit the "Oasis of Peace" which houses a beautiful adoration chapel. And the community of Cenacolo (a rehab center). In the evening, we can join the villagers at 5:00pm (or 6:00pm daylight savings time) to pray the rosary. Followed Croatian Mass during which there is the blessing of the items you have with you.
